Stable

JiBA 2.0.0

  • Substantially faster processing and a substantially higher match rate. Improved track identification, batch lookups and task scheduling to reduce repeated searches and waiting, especially for large libraries and metadata restoration across regions.
  • Redesigned interface. JiBA now features a modern Liquid Glass UI and a new Neo appearance for the home-page record. Switch styles in Settings → General → Home Record Style.
  • Added a selection basket to accommodate changes in macOS 27. Collect albums or songs one at a time in Music, or add an entire playlist. Album drops and queued additions during a run make it easy to process only selected content.
  • Use Enhanced Mode without donating by supplying your own MusicKit token. JiBA will become open source on November 1, 2026. An interface is now available for Apple Developer Program members to enable Enhanced Mode directly with their own MusicKit token.
  • (Experimental) Added restoration share posters. Some sharing integrations may not yet be complete and will be improved in future versions.
  • Added smart handling for Sinitic languages. Intelligently determines whether the primary creative language of a Sinitic-language track’s creator uses Traditional or Simplified Chinese.
  • Added an MCP interface and AI-assisted review. Connect AI to analyze difficult matches and suggest repairs, then review and confirm them in JiBA before applying.
  • Optimized large-library processing and fixed failures when resuming interrupted runs. Improved full-library reads, batch lookups and writes; reduced repeated reads, network requests and large-file rewrites; bounded memory growth during long runs; and coordinated saving of results, caches and resume positions.
  • Improved network-error and rate-limit handling. Better handling of iTunes rate limits, HTTP/2 failures and rejected searches avoids repeated repair-query timeouts. Improved Enhanced Mode authorization connections and Apple service authorization recovery, with clearer failure reasons.
  • Rebuilt album merging. Intelligently verifies recordings and releases before regrouping albums split in Music, reducing repeated ineffective merges. Fixed missing field values triggering per-track reads and causing timeouts when organizing very large libraries.
  • Improved change history and safe restoration. Shows the earliest recorded, current and proposed values, distinguishing Undo Last Write from Restore Original Values. Checks fields before restoring, protects unrelated later edits and allows current values to become a new history baseline.
  • Improved Ignore Cache rescans. Searches again using verifiable pre-edit history and compares results with current Music values. External-edit conflicts go to review, with an experimental developer option to use legacy history for one run.
  • Strengthened protection against write failures and interruptions. Saves snapshots before writing and verifies actual results afterward. Retains interrupted or unconfirmed records and clearly marks tracks that Music refuses to modify in the review list.
  • Updated Enhanced Mode activation and recovery. To prepare for becoming an open-source project, JiBA introduces a new donation-verification process. After the transition period preceding the open-source release ends, only the new verification process will be supported.
  • Improved Auto Run and progress feedback. Fixed onboarding when Ignore Cache is enabled. Pausing shows the actual completed count, with improved batch progress, network-wait feedback and remaining-time estimates. Shows Up to Date when there are no new tracks.
  • Added run summaries and diagnostic ZIP export. Summarizes elapsed time, reads, lookups, writes and errors; exports logs and summaries from the three most recent runs; and trims oversized logs for troubleshooting. Optional experience reports are sent only with user consent and Enhanced Mode enabled.
  • Starting with JiBA 2.0.0, macOS 14 or later is required.

  • Smoothed artwork transitions and record rotation during playback, pause, and window changes.
  • Improved original-language recovery for Japanese, Korean, and Chinese titles, artists, albums, and sort fields while preserving official English and Latin-script names.
  • Improved composer-credit recovery, including verified original names, mixed romanized credits, and classical music fields.
  • Strengthened cross-region catalog and release-edition checks to reduce mismatches, mixed-up credits, and missed matches when albums span processing batches.
  • Fixed false positives in metadata repair, distinguished unresolved catalog lookups from repairable items, and removed deleted library tracks from repair candidates.
  • Optimized full-library processing, batch queries, and cache reuse to reduce waiting and backend memory usage.
  • Improved progress and remaining-time estimates using actual run history and observed writes.
  • Strengthened write and restore protection: metadata writes stop if rollback records cannot be saved safely.
  • Fixed misleading network warnings and issues with incremental retries, cache rescans, and manual review windows.
  • Fixed cache compatibility between stable and Beta builds and refined sponsor restoration and interface details.
  • Requires macOS 14 or later.
